Home access assessment service
Your home like you needs a regular check-up and a bit of work to keep it in good shape.
The Home Access & Services Report has been developed to help participants remain living safely in his/her own home for as long as possible. After all, they’ll feel happier and more secure.
A home access assessor will assess your home inside and outside, identifying health and safety concerns including those areas requiring maintenance and modifications. This will establish a prioritised list for the participant, then the advisers (including Occupational Therapists) and the home access assessor can quickly establish the most important areas demanding design attention before participant goes about organising quotes and construction.
By eliminating health and safety risks, the participant will be prolonging independence, quality of life as well as adding value to his/her home.
ASC assessment focussed on maintenance works such as:
General Maintenance: electrical, hot water service condition, restumping, roofing and wall cladding.
Internal Maintenance: wall & floor tiling, floor coverings in wet areas, painting, heater replacement.
Personal Safety: path and floor safety, fencing and gates, smoke alarms, security lighting.
Health & Safety: slip-resistant flooring, level-entry shower, ramp construction, wider access doorways and manoeuvrability.
